If I could really catch them, I'd have enough for a lot of rainy days after tonight. I took the kids, a friend of mine, and a couple of the kids friends and we headed out east of town about 40 miles, to where it was REALLY country. Needed a place dark enough to see the "light show."
This is what I'm talking about:
Perseids Meteor Shower
We saw probably a couple dozen in the two hours we were out there. Really beautiful. It's been a long time since I've done this. I used to do it often when I lived in Arizona. Go park the truck on top of the mesa, throw a sleeping back up on top of the hood, lay back and watch the stars move through the sky.
Tonight was good. Good company, good fun, everyone enjoyed. I'm glad we went. We'll be back out there on Sept. 1st for the next show. Can't wait!

lying down & looking up at the stars used to make me dizzy. probably still does, haven't tried it in awhile.
